Iowa Land Auction Prices, April 13-19, 2024
There were only three auctions this week, not enough activity to test the market. We’re getting some much-needed rain across the state but still have a way to go to recharge soil profiles.

Iowa Land Auction Prices, April 6-12, 2024
Lyon County again leads the week with a sale at $21,700/acre, followed by Pocahontas with honorable mention at $13,650/acre. There will not be much to report through the end of the month, as auction activity has slowed due to planting season starting.

Lyon County is the leader this week with sales at $22,200/acre & $19,200/acre. Honorable mention goes to Hamilton County with a sale at $15,600/acre. Planters will be rolling very soon.

Sioux County strikes again for top billing with a sale at $26,500/acre. Honorable mention goes to O’Brien County with a sale at $18,100/acre. Auction activity will slow in April for planting season.

Washington County tops the market with a $20,750/acre sale. Poweshiek County takes honorable mention at $19,500/acre. There will be a good number of auctions this coming week. Auction activity will slow in April through August. We’re getting much-needed precipitation around the state.

Webster County produced the top two auctions with prices at $14,400/acre and $14,300/acre. We’re still seeing some “no sale” at auction. Farm income is projected to be significantly lower than in the past three years. There is a direct correlation between farm income and land value.

Sioux County tops the market again with sales at $27,750/acre and $18,700/acre. Honorable mention goes to Plymouth County at $18,000/acre.

Dallas County tops the Iowa land market this week at $17,400/acre, while honorable mention goes to Henry County at $16,063/acre. Land market conditions are adjusting to current economic conditions.

It was another short week due to the holidays, but there were big results. Sioux County topped the market at $22,600/acre, with honorable mention going to Cherokee County. Starting this week, auction activity will increase. There is a snowstorm headed to Iowa. Precipitation of any kind is welcome.

Happy New Year! It was a slow auction week due to the holidays. This week Franklin County tops the market at $12,100/acre, with honorable mention going to Clayton County with a sale at $11,500/acre. This wraps up the 2023 auction year!

Plymouth County gets the highest mark this week at $18,200/acre. Honorable mention goes to Dubuque County with a sale at $17,100/acre. There was a cash rent auction in Andrew County, NW Missouri offering 502 acres for a 3-year term. The winning bid was $435/acre, not including a 10% buyer fee.
